Community Enrichment

Our client base in San Antonio and abroad has been very generous, providing us with sustainable growth over the last decade. In exchange, we feel it is our responsibility to give back to the San Antonio community where we live and work.

As an IT staffing/solutions firm, we have a birds-eye view into what clients are looking for, the technologies on the rise, as well as the overall desires of the city to become a Cyber City through the efforts of SA2020.

Over the last three years, Y&L has made efforts toward what we now call the “IT Talent Growth Pyramid”. We believe that in order to create a mass of IT talent within San Antonio, some very basic groundwork must first be established.

Starting with high school, we brought educators, counselors and administrators together through our “Educating the Educators” program to explain the benefits recent graduates could find in an IT career. Beyond college and/or third-party IT coursework, our intern program has taken the youth of our community who have some IT background and enriched their skills through one-on-one as well as on-the-job training. Many of these interns are currently employed within San Antonio companies. In addition, we also look for opportunities to re-train individuals in basic IT skills to perform jobs such as QA manual testing and place them into beginner level opportunities at local companies.
